Alignment to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The smart city agenda is envisioned to propel Cyberjaya into a sustainable city with smart infrastructure to meet economic, social, environmental and community needs.
With the Cyberview Smart City Action Plan at its core, Cyberjaya is in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, with emphasis on building resilient infrastructure, promote inclusiveness and sustainable industrialisation while fostering innovation. This is also in tandem with Malaysia Smart City Framework and Cyberjaya Low Carbon City Framework.
Cyberjaya Smart City Framework
First published in 2015, the Global Technology Hub agenda remains the driver and model city for subsequent participation of Smart City policy at city, authority, state and national level.
Cyberview is actively in the forefront in pushing for the Smart City framework development. Cyberjaya remains a driver and model city in drafting and formalising of Smart City policy documents at city-authority level, state and national level.
Smart City and Its Focus Areas
Environment (Smart Sustainable Built Environment)
- To provide low carbon and energy efficient solutionsOrganisational Structure
- Smart Environment features two sub-categories:
Resources/ Energy; and Mobility. - Resources/ Energy refer to technologies which are used to improve efficiency of energy and resources usage.
- Smart Mobility refers to intelligent solutions to improve transportation efficiency.

Economy (Smart Economy)
- To increase and improve economic activities using smart and innovative technologies
- Smart Economy is divided into Business and Job.
- Business involves using technology to improve the way businesses are run.
- e.g. hyperlocal advertising uses digital technology to advertise a company’s products and services in a more interactive way.
- Jobs refer to solutions to improve labour market efficiency.
- e-Job portal in collaboration with Jobstreet which brings together employers and job seekers in a more cohesive manner

Infrastructure (Smart Mobility)
- To improve quality of infrastructure including processes and governance to optimise efficiency
- Smart Infrastructure is broken into Connectivity and Traffic.
- Connectivity refers to technology which can be used to improve digital connectivity, e.g. widespread use of Wifi

Social (Smart Public Services- Safety/ Health)
- To engage citizens and communities participation in enhancing the quality of life
- Smart Social consists of Security and Living.
- Security refers to technologies to enhance safety within the community

Building a Smart City for the Community
The community is always at the heart of what we do. This is clearly reflected in our three smart city objectives:
Increasing efficiency of public service and city living
Improving quality of life and creating a safe city
Improving standard of environmental sustainability
Ultimately, Cyberjaya is to be a citizen-centric city enabled by digitalised services through collaborations and open data.

Built Environment as a Service
We provide built environment as a lab for mobility for innovators in the mobility space inspired to revolutionise the way people live, work and play.
Accelerating Cutting Edge Innovations & Research
Cyberjaya Smart City initiatives include the following:
- A fully equipped, state-of-the-art Living Lab to connect businesses and public sector leaders to cutting-edge research in order to effectively test the viability of ideas prior to commercialisation
- Full support and assistance in accelerating, implementing and launching of latest technology and products for existing markets.
- Valuable support for market access and introduction of new innovations, both nationwide and globally.
- Run technology demonstrations and innovation accelerators for start-ups to scale new solutions that drives the city’s new urban economy.
Awareness Outreach Programme with Local Authorities
- Cyberview engages in active collaborations with the Majlis Perbandaran Sepang for the implementation of smart city pilot projects under the Smart and Low Carbon City framework.
- While there are numerous national outreach programmes with the government to support the Malaysia City Framework, in which Cyberview provides advisory for smart cities implementation programmes in other locations.

Cyberjaya Integrated Common Platform (ICP)
The dynamic city is home to numerous pilot projects infusing technology and innovative solutions across the smart city. Through these initiatives too, vast amount of data is generated for Cyberjaya and are currently hosted on a common integrated platform via a city dashboard.
The city dashboard displays various datasets in presentable formats with continuos enrichment of city data inputs. Significantly, through this platform, Cyberview looks to embark on open data collaborations as part of an effort to accelerate innovations on data layering with the ultimate aim of improving city efficiency, sustainability and safety efforts.
A smart city is the answer for community living of the future. There are indeed numerous benefits to multiple parties including the community and the environment and this vision will only come to fruition through a spirit of collaboration.
