The concept of MSC was rolled out to other parts of Malaysia beginning from 2003 with the recognition given to Penang Cyber City 1 and Kulim Hi-Tech Park as a Cyber Centre. This marked the establishment of MSC Malaysia. Both Cyber Centres were later upgraded to Cyber City status in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

To-date, a total of 8 more Cyber Centres were established in Ipoh, Shah Alam, Melaka, Johor and the remaining 4 in Kuala Lumpur. This brings the overall total of Cyber City and Centre in MSC Malaysia to 15 with 7 Cyber Cities and 8 Cyber Centres. Nevertheless, CYBERJAYA will remain as the NUCLEUS OF MSC MALAYSIA.
